SONIC TWINS: MIDPOINT — AUDIO VISUAL NEOCLASSIC CONCERT
On 19 May, the composer-pianist duo Sonic Twins will collaborate with Holographik Space to present their unique audiovisual performance MidPoint, whose name comes from the world of screenwriting and denotes a major plot twist. MidPoint is a shift from the old to the new; from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
The concert will feature original compositions for piano, string ensemble and electronic instruments, as well exclusive arrangements of pieces by masters such as Hans Zimmer, Max Richter and Olafur Arnalds. The Sonic Twins will be joined by Orchestra HNK Zagreb’s solo violinist Parvaz Salimov and HRT Symphony Orchestra’s solo cellist Guennadi Antonov.
Anna and Anastasia, the sisters behind the concert, are alumni of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music who have won music awards at festivals around the world. Among these were the Viana do Castelo Music Festival in Portugal, the Split Art Convention in Croatia, the Luna Nova Contest in the US and the World Master Music Competition. The Twins have received grants from the California Arts Foundation and Union of Moscow Composers, and their music has been performed by ensembles in cities across Europe and the US. They have also worked on music for original films and commercials, an area in which they remain active to this day.
The Sonic Twins’ performances transcend musical genres and offer a space for meaningful dialogue between contemporary classical and neo-classical, romantic, post-minimalist, jazz, ambient and electronic music alongside various sub-genres. The result is a delight for music connoisseurs that immerses the listener in a symphony of auditory impressions.

19. svibnja kompozitorski duo Sonic Twins u suradnji s Holographik Space predstavlja svoj jedinstveni audiovizualni performans "MidPoint". Sam termin posuđen je iz dramaturgije, gdje označava središnju točku preokreta u priči, trenutak kada siže naglo mijenja smjer. "MidPoint" – to je prijelaz između starog i novog, od svakidašnjeg k neočekivanom.
U programu će biti autorska djela za klavir, gudački ansambl i elektroniku, kao i glazba Hansa Zimmera, Maxa Richtera i Ólafura Arnaldsa u ekskluzivnom autorskom aranžmanu sestara. Na koncertu će nastupiti Parvaz Salimov (violina, solist orkestra HNK Zagreb) i Guennadi Antonov (violončelo, solist simfonijskog orkestra HRT-a).
Koncert će biti popraćen imerzivnim generativnim vizualima čiji su autori Holographik Space, koji će doprinijeti doživljaju potpunog uranjanja u glazbu i svojim slikama preobraziti prostor.

Diplomiravši na Glazbenoj akademiji sestara Gnesinih, stekle su brojna priznanja i nagrade diljem svijeta, između ostaloga i na International Festival in Viana Du Castelo (Portugal), Split Art Convention (Hrvatska), The Luna Nova Contest (SAD), World Master Music Competition, a također su i stipendistice California Arts Foundationa i Moskovskog saveza kompozitora.
Njihovu su glazbu izvodili glazbeni kolektivi u raznim gradovima Europe i SAD-a. K tome, duo se bavi i skladanjem glazbe za autorske filmove i reklamе.
Glazbene izvedbe SONIC TWINS briše granice žanrova te otvara prostor punopravnog dijaloga između «Contemporary classical», romantizma, neoklasike, post minimalizma, elemenata jazza, ambijentalne glazbe, elektronike i različitih međužanrova. Glazbene sladokusce tako očekuje prava poslastica i uranjanje u simfoniju zvučnih impresija.
