Git is the most popular version control program in the world. It's very powerful and gives a lot of freedom to users, but sometimes not knowing what is happening under the hood can lead to a disaster (or can prevent you from recovering from one).After the workshop, you'll know how Git stores data internally and how it manipulates that data when you issue a command. Git won't be a black box anymore, but an open book every time you commit, merge, or rebase something. You'll learn how to stay away from trouble and how to save your colleague's day.

Laptops are not required. The subject matter will be discussed on the projector and whiteboard. You may bring a laptop if you wish to try things out right away, in that case please install Git beforehand.
No previous knowledge is required, but it is helpful if you have worked with a version control software before.

About the lecturer
Merlin Rebrović works as an interaction designer at Google and YouTube. With a computer science degree and a few years of working as a software engineer, he shifted to design realizing that you need both design and engineering to make great products. When not building something new, Merlin can be found reading or relaxing in nature.
