about headliners
The Ukranian duo of Artur & Batish, are currently among the most successful Ukrainian electronic acts and enjoy global recognition. Over the last couple of years, the two experienced deejays and producers from Kiev, have completed a rewarding transition from the debut release, to their current standing in the scene. The key to ARTBAT’s success lies within their powerful and inventive sound of the highest quality. Their tracks have an impressive capacity to fuel both intimate dance floors and huge arenas with energy and drive.
It is a pure passion for the music that has got the melodic house and techno. 2019 was a standout year for this pair, who were Mixmag Stars of the Year as well as being Beatport’s overall Number 1 best selling artists after an unbeatable string of Number 1 singles and the Ibiza DJ Awards - Breakthrough Artist Of The Year!
The duo continued to define their singular sound by completing a trio of singles on fryhide, Tabu - Papillon and Aquarius all came at number 1 in Melodic Techno, and then their first full EPs (Planeta and Upperground EP) - both on Diynamic - continued to get people dancing and DJs reaching all over the world. As ever with this pair, the Beatport charts were lit up by their tunes, with ‘Prometheus’ at number 1, ‘Planeta’ at number 2, and ‘Sand In Your Shoes’ at number 4 before ‘Upperground’ then proved the biggest of the lot with the number 1 spot held for months on end. Ever more in demand, the pair went on to work with WhoMadeWho on their collaboration 'Closer' on Watergate Records, Matador with their track ‘Apollo 11 & Visitor’, then picked up an even wider sphere of fans when putting out ‘Element’ on Tale of Us's Afterlife last summer. This was then followed by a standout remix of Monolink’s ‘Return to Oz’ which proved to be one of the summers biggest hits. Most recently, they have kept up their impressive run of form with a remix of Sono's 'Keep Control' on Kontor, also spending weeks at number 1.
As well as being studio wizards, a set for Cercle atop the Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio De Janeiro showcased their DJ skills. Following that, they also served up their first ever Essential Mix for Pete Tong’s long running series on BBC Radio 1. As DJs who know how to play huge outdoor stages or intimate clubs alike, this pair have played key clubs and festivals like Awakenings, Fusion Festival in Germany, Warung in Brazil, EDC in the US and Asia, Tomorrowland, DGTL and Loveland, as well as Hï Ibiza and DC10 Ibiza, Watergate Berlin, plus gigs at CRSSD Fest San Diego as well as many others. In a very short space of time then, ARTBAT have moved from being an underground secret to the in demand secret ingredient underground techno has been
waiting for.
We are proud to present Honey Dijon as our 3rd headliner.
Honey was born and raised in Chicago the home of house music, but has been living in NYC for many years. Like many involved in the scene, her love affair with music began upon hearing her parent’s soul and r&b records at home. Soon she wanted to be the one dropping the needle on the record whenever they held parties in the family basement and the lure of club life soon followed. Before long she was obsessively collecting her own music from hallowed stores like Imports Etc and Gramaphone in Chicago, all the while honing her own personal style.
It was while hanging out in these stores where Honey met and formed a long lasting friendship with Derrick Carter, who became a mentor. It was he who introduced her to the underground of Chicago where she was exposed to the sounds of jacking house and Detroit techno. After relocating to New York City, Honey also met another music giant Danny Tenaglia, whose legendary sets at Twilo were also a major source of inspiration. “Danny heavily influenced my sound as a DJ’, says Honey. “The drama of his delivery and risk taking always informed me of how I wanted to present music. Of course, Derrick and Chicago house were also very influential in my development as an artist, so it’s this combination of Chicago and New York that has helped me develop my signature sound.”
Still preferring vinyl as a format, there is something hugely authentic about the way Honey mixes, fusing the bump of Chicago with more classic New York sounds and other European influences. Her sets are known for their strong programming, passion and integrity. The art of the mix itself is also very important to Honey as anyone who has witnessed her play can testify about her deft mixing skills and the way she dexterously flows between house or techno with a warm, hypnotic feel. She has played at many of the best venues around the world including esteemed underground haunts like Panorama Bar/berlin, Sub Club/glasgow, The Block/tel aviv, Output/nyc, Space/ibiza and of course Smart Bar/chicago.
In the studio, Honey brings her unique perspective and experience to her productions as well. Of course heritage sounds are at the rock bed of what she does, but far from churning out throwback sounds, she makes sure new ideas are at the forefront. For evidence of this look no further than her releases and remixes on Classic Records.
In fact this cultural star recently mixed a retrospective compilation for the legendary Classic Music label as well being commissioned to create the soundtrack for a recent Louis Vuitton Menswear shows.
With her charisma, style and broad understanding of electronic music and upcoming gigs in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Amsterdam, Germany, Spain, and Paris to name a few there seems to be no stopping Miss Dijon.
With a career spanning more than 20 years, Paco Osuna is one of the most renowned artists in the industry. His creativity, courage and relentless search for new forms of expression are some of his principal and consistent virtues when it comes to making music. On the dance floor, he is lively, intelligent and sophisticated, with a deep awareness for sound aesthetics.
He has devoted his career to growth, while simultaneously nurturing Spain’s electronic music scene. He is co-founder of Club4, one of the most emblematic clubs in Barcelona, creative head and owner of Mindshake Records and its events concept, and a partner in one of the most important bookings agency in Europe.
Throughout his career Paco has performed at clubs, parties and festivals of great prestige. The list is endless, from Fabric London to WOMB Tokyo, passing through Space NYC & Miami, Watergate Berlin, Movement Detroit, Awakenings, Ultra Miami, Sónar Barcelona and Tomorrowland. From 2012 to 2014 he was resident for Richie Hawtin’s ENTER. In 2015 Paco Osuna became part of Music On, joining Marco Carola in residencies at Ibiza, Miami and NYC. In 2016 he was selected to be ambassador of PLAYdifferently MODEL1. 2017 was also an important year for the Mindshake showcases, in which Paco participated alongside the label producers with tours taking in European and American stages.
In the studio, Paco’s use of technology and the constant search for innovation has led to the development of his own musical trademark, coating the purest techno sounds with his most characteristic fibres: deep, dark and imaginative beats, always accentuated by his creativity.
Having spent his formative years experiencing the electronic music scene from many different angles; first as a raver, music fan, promoter and finally DJ and producer, Richy Ahmed is a canny and astute operator, with a deep underlying passion for music and people, who understands the fundamentals of what makes a dance floor tick.
Originating from South Shields in the North East on England, Richy has drawn on his wide experience to build a career with genuine long-term integrity allowing him to inspire and engender the next generation of British house producers and DJs, and in doing so build a long-lasting legacy.
From his breakout release The Drums and A&R’ing for Hot Creations, Richy now has a plethora of releases under his belt on respected labels such as FFRR, Strictly Rhythm, Truesoul, Crosstown Rebels and Play It Say It, and remixed the likes of New Order, Groove Armada and London Grammar to boot.
A graduate of many summers spent in Ibiza and an original resident of Paradise at DC10, Richy has toured the world playing some of the finest clubs and festivals around, from Panorama Bar to Space Miami and Glastonbury to Tomorrowlands, Richy is no stranger to applying his infectious ability to get people dancing. The last eighteen months have seen Richy strike out on his own in the form of his beloved label and event imprint FOUR THIRTY TWO.
The label has given Richy a chance to go down a vibrant musical path, deeply rooted in the authentic DNA of true House music, and has given him a chance to A&R for the music he loves and believes in. The events have been nothing but a major success from hosting Mathew Jonson live at Vista Ibiza to Room 1 Fabric London and playing all night long for the closing weekend of MiNT Club Leeds, it’s safe to say they are building from strength to strength.
Now Richy’s reputation as one of the best DJs and producers around is firmly established, 2020 is all about cementing the foundations for the future of the label and brand.
